Food Forests NZ is the grower resource hub and network gateway for the food-forest movement in Aotearoa — a “start here” portal that brings the community, the tools and the wider network together in one place. We designed, built and branded it as the resource-rich companion to the main hub at foodforests.nz.
The brief
Give growers — from a Wellington balcony to acres in the Waikato — one place to start: find the right tool, understand the network, and plug into a real community, with region-specific knowledge from Kaitaia to Invercargill.
What we did
- Website design & development and brand, structured as a guided “start here” gateway.
- Aggregated the network’s free grower tools in one hub — the Orchard Planner (285+ species), Continuous Harvests, the Companion Planting Matrix, the Troppo Quiz and grower games.
- Content — FAQ, regional knowledge and a clear map of the connected network (Troppo, Grow Te Puke, RootyToot, Kai Resilience, Vector Group).
- SEO and AI-search optimisation, cross-linked with foodforests.nz and the wider network.
Why it matters
A movement needs an easy front door. This hub turns scattered tools and sites into a single guided journey — routing growers to exactly the right resource and deepening their connection to the network.
