The Kai Resilience Cooperative presented a unique challenge: to build a complex, feature-packed digital platform that could facilitate a circular food economy from the ground up. Te Puke Digital designed a custom web application that is both highly functional and easy to use, with a modern, clean interface that makes a complex system feel simple. The visual design was built to inspire trust and cooperation, using clear icons and a logical flow to guide users through its many features, from listing produce to booking a tour. The aesthetic reflects the cooperative’s innovative and sustainable approach, establishing it as a leader in community food systems.
The result is a powerhouse of a website, packed with custom-built features designed for maximum community engagement. At its core is a bespoke crop swap platform, enabling members to exchange surplus produce with minimal friction. This feature is complemented by a custom-built tour booking system, allowing users to find and reserve spots for regenerative farm and garden tours. We also developed extensive, searchable directories for various food-related businesses and organizations, which are supported by a user review system to foster transparency and trust. This build is more than a website; it’s a living tool that empowers the community to build a resilient and self-sufficient food system.
